I believe both Clowns and Giant Gouramis come from the same area but seeing so many small Clowns swimming right next to this behemoth kinda scares me. I read from several places that Giant Gouramis are very peaceful when larger but still.

What do you guys think of a setup like this cause it is what I am considering for a 180 gallon. Opinions would be very much appreciated.

180 gallon

1 Giant Gourami
6 Clown Loaches
1 Leopard Sailfin Pleco

a 180 will not be big enough for a giant gourami. Neither will it be long or big enough for a group of decent sized clown loaches.

the clowns in that pic are probably juvies, or subadults, nowhere near full grown. The largest clown i'd seen in a store was tipping 14" or so, and they do get bigger than that.

Is it just me, or does that pic look photoshopped? I'm positive I've seen the giant gourami picture exactly the same, without the clown loaches.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

I dont think that photo is photoshopped at all, look at the loached that are shot while swimming you can see that the photo has not been edited.

Aswell as aquahobby.com being a very reputable fish site

the picture doesnt look like a photoshop. I dont know why someone would waste their time to make a picture of clown loaches with a giant gourami.

I have seen full size clown loaches (12" with giant gouramis.

I find it VERY rare to have a 14" clown loach, since their max size is around 12" maby a little smaller, and a little bigger.
