	Using AmQuel+ and NovAqua+ - Question
Naturalist Fingerling Posts: 34 Kudos: 33 Votes: 3 Registered: 18-Apr-2003	I am using these two products to dechlorinate and condition my water during initial tank setup and water changes. Now on to my question... Since the AmQuel+ removes ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates won't this hinder my beneficial bacteria? Will my tanks ever fully cycle using these products?

Posts: 1507 Kudos: 1350 Votes: 730 Registered: 25-Apr-2001	From my understanding Amquel+ does not remove ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, but neutalises them, making them harmless to life in the aquarium. You may find that when testing for these compounds in the water that you get false readings which will make it difficult to determine when the cycling process is complete. So, in answer to your question, yes your tank will cycle but you might have problems with false readings of ammonia when there is none there. Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Lasts forever as only a few drops are needed per water change. Here is a picture.
