If you add it to the tank after you've added the new water most conditioners reccomend that you add the ammount of conditioner for the tank volume rather than the ammount you changed. Doing it the former is cheaper than the latter. Granted a few drops doesnt make all that much of a difference ...but still .^_^[hr width='40%']"in any case, chocolate is hardly a rare comodity." said Chaos. The 90g is almost stocked, the 2 5gallon tanks are ready to stock, and the 20g is holding a few fish while they grow up. I've got congo tetras, threadfins, 2 gourami species, emperor tetras, cories, 2 pleco species, farlowella, do I still have any otos left?, guppies, and I always forget the shrimp. I'm also using the water for the tank at my mom's house with angelfish, yoyo loaches, and a betta. The swordtails died off without really any symptoms and the only thing off on water tests was the fact the ph of the wellwater there shot up to 9.0 again. Although I would think the yoyos would be the first to go and the swordtails would be quite hardy toward the hardwater. |

Equilibrium only raises gh and doesn't contain any buffers so I bought kent's ph stable which is a mix of carbonic acid salts. I like having seperate control of those 2 things and so far it's been pretty simple. I mix in 1/4th scoop of ph stable and 1/2scoop of equilibrium per 2cups of water and keep 16cups mixed in a container under the stand. 1 cup per gallon gives me a kh of 80ppm(4dkh), ph of 7.2, and gh of 4dh. Big improvement from the tapwater. |
