That's the one thing I don't like about my tank: the hood. It looks pretty, but it is absolutely horrible heatwise. ever since I added a third lamp under the hood (and I even want a fourth) I can't get the temperature to drop below 28, during summer it often gets towards and over 30. when I have the money and the materials I will probably build a custom hood with some ventilators to keep the temperature down. I would like to have it to 27 max. |
