i've finished an up grade of my 40 to a 72g. the 40 has now been reaquascaped with sand mainly gravel at one end planted with vals and java fern.

the tank only has
1 male red dwarf gourami
5 corys
1 bristlenose pleco

are there any suggestions of what i could add - would like large shoal of someing - they have to be ok in very open bare tanks

One of black neon tetras, the other rummynose tetras.
Nice job on the tank It looks very open, have you considered adding a background ?

You can add a Background & you can add 3 more Corydoras.

You can add a big school of Rummynose Tetras, as they are wonderful fish.

In a 72g you could have a shoal of larger fish, such as giant danios or Congro tetras. Be forewarned though that the danios are very active

why subtract the sea fans - i like the marine style, i'm adding a few rocks and building it up slowly. i intend i one to turn it into african cichlids.

i've gone for neons

just what large fish could i have would like about 4.

cheers shekoi

I just think that they would look better in a marine tank. Its my personal preference in my tanks to keep all of the decor strictly freshwater. If your style means that you like the looks of the seafans, keep them in. They are not hurting anything. I do think they would look better with the rocks and african cichlids though .
