What can I add to this tank? | |
Mortica Small Fry Posts: 7 Kudos: 11 Votes: 0 Registered: 01-May-2016 | I have a 29 gal tank that is currently housing 1 dwarf gourami, 1 rainbow Platy and about 6 Platy fry. All 6 fry have homes to go to once they are ready to leave. This should only be another week or two before they are ready for their move. My Platy was purchased pregnant and this is her 3rd group so hopefully she is done now. The question is what to put in this tank ounces the babies have moved. I haven\'t had much luck with platys my rainbow is the only who has really thrived she was 1 of 5 the other four have died off. All at different times from different issues. As heavily bred as they are I\'m not surprised I\'ve had similar issues with guppies. I really want something different, something that is active, and colorful. My gourami has more personality than others I\'ve had in the past he even greets me, and shoots water which I\'ve found to be rare, but he has his shy times as well as the Platy leaving me an empty tank to look at. Any suggestions? |

I'm a big fan of cardinal tetras, and you could probably fit about 10-15 of them in a 29g. "That's the trouble with political jokes in this country... they get elected!" -- Dave Lippman |

I sit in front of my tank for hours and when I had 5 adult platys someone was always out swimming about but now that I'm down to two adults (the babies only come out for food) when they are in a cave or in the plants in just looking at an empty tank which isn't much fun. |
