I finally got a pic of a fish I'm proud of these days....my new L-129 scribble pleco. His name is "Scribble Lips" and he's a cutie, even if he hides all the time.

My Big black male convict. I dont have a good picture of him today, but I will edit this post and put in a linkie.

Now the part about why I am proud of him. All children under 18 please cover your eyes.

Here is the reason:

His mate was a 2 inch something convict girl and she would lay eggs in a tiny pot that Baba (male convict) couldnt fit into since he is over 5 inches or so. So he would tilt the pot sideways with mouth facing towards the back of the aquarium for her to lay eggs on the walls, and then he would straighten the pot with mouth facing upwards, sit on it, and fertilize the eggs

The first few times, hubby and I couldnt understand what was happening because the eggs were laid early int he morning and we would only see Baba sitting on the pot, but one day, I was up and got to see the whole thing and it totally shocked me

I am probably most proud of my Peppermint Bristle nose, he is the cutest thing ever, but i haven't managed to get a picture of him yet as he hides all the time.

I am also very proud of my bristle nose-Hortensia and Whiskers as they are my oldest fish!

Here is a picture of Whiskers!

at a mere 2.5" long he even feeds with the 30 or so mbuna
he is the only fish they havent killed since the tank has been running with them init

The tank that these fish were in? It is 300gal and some change. 7X2X3 feet. And a 400 gal sump in the basement.

Here is an old pic of the tank, about 3 years ago.

well, i guess my current "cool fish" i have would be my south american bumblebee cat. nothing too special, he is just fun to watch, a bit on the reclusive side though. he gets along well with everyone but my overly agressive pleco, they get in fights over shrimp and high protien/tasty foods. i know bristlenose pleco+protien=bad...but the only way i can keep her away is to fend her off with a net whilest the others woof the food down.

anyway, here he is in all his blurry photo glory.

superlion,

Feather Fins are super cool fish. I had one for about a year and a half and I just lost him. I don't know really what happened. Someday I will get another one.

ACIDRAIN,

What size tank are you running??

I'm very proud of Junior, who is the only surviving fry I have from three spawnings between my blue acara and green terror. He spent weeks in a small container floating in my 6g; I had to feed him many times a day with a toothpick and do water changes twice daily. He graduated to the 6g and is now in my 29g; eventually he'll join his mom in the 75g. Very nice looking fish

My severum Tiny has a fantastic personality, he's definitely a 'pet' fish, loves to be hand fed. My betta JB is also a fish with lots of personality.

Another fav of mine, was Leo the Lionfish. Biggest one in captivity I have ever seen. He was lost with the shark above, and was 14 inches long then. You can see one of the other lions in the backgroud, there were 4 volitans in that tank, and two radiatas. And the only survivor was the Lancilotis grouper.

The Radiata.

It would have to be Horny, my male California Horn Shark.

You can see in this pic, the "horns" on the dorsal fin. They have the horns on both dorsal fins. BTW, this is where he got his name from.

I lost him over a year ago, during an 8+ hour power outage while I was at work. Lost a bunch of fish that day.
