Rainbow shark oscar fish silver shark elephant nose fish tiger barbs( i guess no) walking catfish and a pleco. How can i make from these fish a good stock. Also parrot fish. how many of each can i keep.

How about 1 small pleco? Plecos are very messy, so I'd get a small one...and only one. Two would leave you alot to clean up.

I'd go with a Bristlenose, Clown, or Rubbernose pleco.

if we are talking about a common pleco, a large one cant fit, 24 inch of fish in a 40 gallon.

i would get a CAE only because if my memory is right than u have larger fishes that should be able to hold its own. and i would rather deal with a 12 inch fish than a 24.

I think you're aiming a little big for a 40 gallon. One small pleco would work, but most of the other stuff you listed is either too large or incompatible. Maybe try with some community-type fish if what you're going for is a community tank.

With all those fish you need to be aiming for like a 100g tank or bigger. Those fish do not belong together. The last thing on your mind should be a pleco.

I agree 110%. The pleco itself could get up to 20" long and a 40g will simply not be enough room. You need to remimber that fish grow. You don't want to be buying a new tank every few months and wasting all the money. Also Plecos are a pretty messy fish and you will ned to make sure you are doing good cleanings evey week. In a 40g tank the longest fish you should be shooting for is one that will not get over 5" at most and even sometimes that may still be to big. Also keep in mind some fish just because they are smaller doesn't mean that they need a small tank. Some need the room to move or they will be unhappy and then they will not be any fun to watch. Just my thoughts.

"Rainbow shark oscar fish silver shark elephant nose fish tiger barbs( i guess no) walking catfish and a pleco. How can i make from these fish a good stock. Also parrot fish. how many of each can i keep."

1 Rainbow shark
No to Oscars
No to silver sharks
1 elephant nose
1 of the smaller plecs
8-10 tiger barbs
No to parrot fish

These are what would fit well, compatability is another issue.

I believe he has all those fish (or most of them) in a 10g tank now.

I'd return most of the fish Paul and do some research. Then you can get a 40g and stock it appropriately.

If you have a look at Paul's active threads in his profile you will see that this question has been answered several times. I have spent some time in Chat with Paul trying to explain it to him but he still comes back with the same questions.

Paul how about giving us some info about your self and exactly what you have and what you can buy in your area of the world.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
