Even Java gets destroyed. In the tank I have Severums, clown plec, skunk loaches, dojo loach, whip tail cat, and a red tail shark. I'm guessing it's the Sevs but I've not seen a one of them eat the plants. The Shark and the whip tail were put into the tank long after I learned that plants are not a good idea in this tank. |

Mine destroy Java moss, Swords and Java Fern pretty completely. Hornwort, Bacopa, Crypts, and Wisteria has survived with them. I suggest making lettuce (red leaf, romaine, or similar) available every day. I know when I've skipped a day because my filter get clogged with shredded java moss. |

Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 ![]() | I have a feeling Shannen's fish would not only eat his plants, but the "Veggie Tree", and the stick with clips...they seem as piggy as mine:%) Shannen I'd be willing the bet everyone is helping the cause of "Eat Shannen's Plants" But, I'd be willing to bet the Pleco is doing his utmost best my plecos have always had more than their share...heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." Sevs are planted tank terrors. |

alexandre![]() Fingerling Posts: 28 Kudos: 8 Votes: 0 Registered: 15-Apr-2005 ![]() | This idea may seem a little icky, but check the fishy poo... whoever is pooing green is your likely culprit... of course, if your fish are discrete poo-ers (i have had a few in my time) you might be out of luck with this plan. Anyway this tactic exonerated my nippy molly and fingered my favorite fat goldfish for the crime of eating all my plants. He is an OINKER! ![]() Last edited by alexandre at 16-Apr-2005 00:54 |
