I put 5 ghost shrimp in a 6 gallon tank with one Guorami and one german ram...there is but one shrimp left...

Do you have any thoughts on who is guilty?

Six gallons seems a tad small for those fish? The shrimp were lunch.

That's horribly overstocked. Most likely, the two fish would not have all-out attacked the shrimp had they a bigger tank to get away in. However, in that cramped space, the shrmip were toast.

Just wondering? Did the LFS say the shrimp would work with those fish in that tank?

Gouramis are known shrimp killers. The blue gouramis and larger aren't as likely to take notice of shrimp but then they also should be in a 20g or bigger tank. I never tried shrimp with my rams but they are also quite likely to go after them.

Both the ram and the Gourami were rescued from my 40 gallon...that's why they are there. I will be taking them back to the lfs soon. But yes, they told me they would be fine. so sad...I had no idea that Gouramis ate shrimp. Bummer. Thanks everyone.
