	Will it rust ?
LEE_WILMOT_706 Enthusiast Posts: 243 Kudos: 201 Votes: 3 Registered: 27-Jun-2004	I got some fake java fern, from my LFS today and its all kept together using a metal ring at the bottom of the plant. Am I supposed to leave the ring on or take it off. Will the metal ring not rust, it is quite thick and silver in colour, not sure what metal it is. Will it be alright in my tank ??

I would take it off anyway and plant the stems in small groups. Ingo Edit: what plant(s) is it anyway? Edit Again: After reading Kitten's entry - yeah fake? So the metal is just a weight? Odd! I think it is real lead though? just saying that cos I am in the UK too, and well I have used to solder things.... GFG edited to add - Now I have read everything properly ! is the metal a dull silver? is the plant fake or real? do you mean its a real plant that looks like java fern? basically leave any unnecessary objects out of tank!
