I know there was not 20 fry swimming in the bag. Is this normal to have fry in 6 hours my temp was a little high it was at 84 at one time but i lowered it to 81. Will i get more fish today or is that all i will get? she still looks fat. Ill say thease are the easyest fish to breed i got fry when i only owned thease fish for 6hours. I think it was just luck but i have never bread fish before. well i am happy. ![]() |

Well with Guppies, you'll be expecting fry every month. http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

When stressed (i.e. being moved around), pregnant guppies can withhold the fry, but in your case, I'm guessing the time threshold had passed and there was no choice. Almost all the fry should come out within a couple hours of each other, but there's always a chance that there is still a fry or two left that will take a while longer. |

I have a tea-strainer with very fine mesh that I push the flakes through. You can buy special live-bearer fry food but I've never bothered with it. If you have them in an established tank there's probably plenty for them to eat in there already - microscopic infusoria, algae etc. But crushed flakes seem to do the trick. ![]() |
