jodecii Hobbyist Posts: 51 Kudos: 26 Votes: 0 Registered: 28-Jan-2006 | I "had" a blk mystery snail in my tank with 1 gourami, 1 pleco, 5 danios, 3 cories... To my bewilderment I looked in my tank this morning and the snail was gone but the shell is still there. I have looked around my tank but can seem to find the "remains" anywhere? Any ideas? |

It's possible the snail may have severely polluted the tank, so the ammonia may have jumped a few notches. Of course, do a water change if such a thing has happened. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

It is also a good suggestion to do at least 3 30% water changes three days appart to make sure the tank is not poluted. Do a full water test first and when completed the water changes, just to be on the safe side.
