I can't think of any off the top of my head, but I'll ask around

I know PFK has a notification type email about new articles on their website, might be a place to start?

on a similar theme,

Being fairly new to the hobby I'd be interested in buying a magazine but don't know which one to get.

I want something fairly modern, I have tropical freshwater but am interested in going marine when I win the lotto.

Also I wont be buying it every month (unless it turns out to be gripping) so I want a fair chance that the edition I buy will be ok.

Any suggestions anyone?

Since you are in the UK, I'd go for PFK (Practical Fishkeeper) as the articles are good and it is specific to your region
