You could get bloodfin tetras.

Be careful gouramis sometimes become extremely aggressive with other gouramis and other tank mates.

Absolutely, without a doubt male cherry barbs. they are very red, very small and will go with any community tank. They will be even redder if you toss in a couple of girls for them to chase.

If it is very small, cherry barbs, or some guppies with red tails
If it is a bit bigger, go with some red tetras. I heard that Rosy Tetras don't school as much as others - but i may be wrong

I agree with cherry barbs. A good point is that if you are tight on space they don't have to be kept in schools, even a M/F pair is fine.

What about some cherry barbs? They stay small and are pretty well behaved. I had a group of 3 males and they got along fine together and with the other fish.

ya my gouramis is a grump. but hes not fast enough to catch anything the bn and guppies are much faster then him and he knows not to touch the snails, last gouramis that touched the snails ended up dead and eaten by them. im thinking adding 4 or 5 cards.

i have a filter made for a 30 gal tank on a 10 gal so the levels stay very good so i cant see adding any more would hurt the tank.

the bn is just a baby he will out grow the tank but it will take a while then ill put him in my 30 gal with my other one or trade him in for another baby.

i have a small tank with a dwarf gouramis, some snails, a bn, and some guppies.

it is great but the middle is always empty. i would love to find a really good middle fish that i can school in the middle.

but the thing is they have to be red or mostly red

tank size is important b/c if u have a 10 gallon, a couple of DG would overstock the tank, but dont they come in red also,

How small is your tank? You may be maxed out with what you already have. The fish we recommended need to be in groups of four to six at least.

The only thing I can think of right off would be cardinals or neons, maybe red phantom tetras or a platy with a red coloration (usually more orangy). I would not reconmend a red betta, but they do come in red - not a good idea with a gourami.

Depending on how big your tank is...what about flame tetras, serpae tetras, or neon tetras? Black Ruby Barbs are nice, too, but I don't know if they would work with your other occupants.
