if that is the word. n.e way i am getting some of my grand pa endlers but there is a problem. he has had wild strain of endlers for over 30 years and he never does water changes since he is old. These fish live in almost tea color water. i don't know how these fish make it but they do. i guess he only adds water rarely when they need it. n.e way when i get them home in the "TEA" water how do i make them get use to clean, clear water.past trys almost never work. i let them float for 1 hour,
put alittle amount of my water in the jar,
repeat,
repeat,
and then let them go.
is there a better way of this.

i think the word u want is acclimation
if i spelled it right?

what i do for sensitive fish is i float the bag for 30 minutes in the tank im putting them into
after that time i cut a small hole in the bag n use a large syringe (not the needle syringe but one of not medical use) i suck up water from the tank into it n then spray it into the bag
i repeat this every 5 minutes for bout 1 hour after which i cut the bag open n push it under n allow the fish to swim out at there own time
works wonders n ive never lost a fish

WHen you acclimate, you only need to adjust temperature, and pH.

The fish dont care weather the water is tea colored or not.

Once the temp and pH are really close, you can let them go.

i think his ph is off the charts, and i think(not sure) but mines are around 7. might be a good idea to let them stay in the jar over night so they can ajust to the new conditions.

You may try using a drip acclimation method.. It takes a longer amount of time to accomplish, but with the fish having to go thru such an extreme change of environment, it may be your best bet..

Good Luck with it..
