| adding to a 55 gal community | |
hca![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 783 Kudos: 434 Votes: 211 Registered: 06-Mar-2004 ![]() | Current occupants include 2 blue gouramis ( m/f pair) 1 medium angel 10 long finned danios( mix of leopard and golden zebra) 6 emerald "cories" 1 bn pleco I want something for the top 1/3 of the tank, that is colorful and active as most of the activity in the tank is in the mid to bottom. I think Harquelins go higher in the water column and are active and colorful. Actually in a 55 you could do a school of Congo Tetras. These are beautiful active fish that occupy th top 1/3. If you want a bigger schooler go with the Rosy Barbs, but if you put 15 plus Harleys in there that would be a pretty site. The Harleys never stop moving and are a true schooling fish regardless of conditions. My Scapes |

I worry though that a small school of 6 would actually have enough swimming room in your tank. Like I said they're rather active . Additionally I'd be worried a bit about being too much for the angel.WCMM's for the most part (IME anyway) tend to stay to the top, and the males love to flare and dance with each other showing off for the girls so even if they seem somewhat bland in the store the color up nicely, are active but not in a picky way and seem like they might fit your bill ^_^[hr width='40%'] The life, the love, You die to heal. hca![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Fish Addict Posts: 783 Kudos: 434 Votes: 211 Registered: 06-Mar-2004 ![]() | I had had a school of rosy barbs in this tank before a power outage crashed the tank= and i lost them , I think theyd be to much for the angel also ( dh had to have an angel....)Since the rosies have been gone, the tank is kinda drab .The wcmm sound good, but i really didnt want something shaped like the danios....but theyll stay closer to the top... Debating between harlies and wcmm- id like a school of 10-12 So which sounds better- harlies or wcmm??? |
