My two baby kribs have finally paired up and are beating up some of the other fish. The original plan was to move them out of the community tank, but my spare 20 gallon tank has sprung a leak and the only place to put yet another tank is on the bottom of my current 20's stand, where the fish can hardly be seen. So now I'm trying to decide which way I want to go. The current stock is:
2 kribensis cichlids
1 angelfish
1 keyhole cichlid
1 clown loach
7 Harlequins
2 Praecox rainbows

The first option would be to take the angelfish, keyhole cichlid, and clown loach to the lfs since they are the ones getting beaten up. Then I could double the school of harlequins and get some more of the praecox, and possibly a bn pleco.

Or I could move the kribs to a 12 gallon tank, add some loaches to the 55 that would stay smaller...
The substrate in the tank is some very sharp flourite , otherwise I would love to have cories. I'm not even really sure if it would work for loaches.

I could use your thoughts/suggestions.

My experience of breeding kribs were, 15G, lots of plants and caves, and leave them.
So don't know about ur 12G. I guess u could let them spawn in there and then take the dad out after eggs hatch. And when the babies r old enough to find their way around, put the mother back and let the 12G be a grow out tank.
Then you have to worry about they pair spawning again....

Fix the 20 gal. tank & put the Kribensis there. They will chase the other fish when spawning & raising the fry. It's better to leave them on their own & they will keep on breeding, once you take the fry away from them.

For the sake of the beaten up fish remove the kribs to any available tank, wether you can view them without having to bend over is secondary.
