Nets just flow thru the water faster and better .What I do when netting is to have a cup and or the bag handy...sometimes already in the tank. Once I have the fish netted I place them in the transport container without removing them from the water. ^_^ [hr width='40%'] It only hurts when I breathe" ![]() |

I'd use a net under almost every circumstance... ![]() PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread. |

Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 ![]() | I've used a cup before, but it was to catch things like my pleco who had outgrown everything else I had to catch him with For the smaller fish, you could go insane trying to catch them all with a net..."I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." I would still use a net. I don't think my quick usage of a net will hurt or kill any of my fish, especially since it never has... ![]() PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread. |

I use an old fish net wire part without the net. Just wrap it on the old wire part, no holes and no sylicone. Inflate it with water, and place it on the bottom in the open area of the tank tank. Use another net to chase the fish into the bag. They cannot see the bag, so they go in rather easily. Once in, just close the bag with your hand. Bring it to the surface, empty the excess water out, fill with some air and tie off. Works rather well. Plecos are easier caught this way, as you don't have to "scrape them off the glass or a rock or such. There is always a bigger fish... |
