| angel pair agression | |

They have bred about 4 times now and currently have wrigglers. There are no other fish in the tank with them. They are in a small tank atm while i set up a new one, but they have been in there for a while and were very peaceful for quite a while. Both angels are quite damaged - the female has torn fins and was crammed in behind the filter looking very stressed, and the male is covered in scratches and missing scales. Today i took the male out because the female looked like she was going to die from stress. Why would this happen? And can i put the female in with the male in the bigger (90L) tank once they have recovered? Thanks for your help! |

They get aggressive with other fish & with each other aswell. How big is the tank that they are in?. You've done a good thing by seperating them & it's better to re-introduce them in a bigger tank, so the chasing wouldn't be too aggressive. Do they take care of the eggs & fry?. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

They are however ok with the mum atm. The tank was maybe 60L at best but hard to tell. I only moved the male cause i thought he was going to kill the female - would they go this far?? |

I had some that fought really hard & some where very peaceful. The best is to remove 1 of the parents after the spawning (because they are fighting), but be carefull when re-introducing him & keep an eye on them. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |
