The stocking levels sound okay with the exception of the clown loaches in the 70 gallon. They are going to get very large and that size of a tank is not recommended for them, unless you have a larger tank ready to go for them as they grow.

is there anything you recomend in place of the clowns, ideally towards the larger end of what would suit the setup?

Do you want any sort of centerpiece for the 70g? If you want loaches I'd go with a good-sized group of queens or yo-yos. Not as large as clowns but they're both more active the larger the shoal they're kept in. A BN would be nice for algae control; if you're able to get a M and F they may even breed.

The 15g sounds nice, I'd just be concerned about possibility of the shrimp becoming a meal for the betta.

looking at going for 4 yoys and 2 bn cats in place of the clowns now then. was thinking the redline barbs would make a good centerpiece but early days and still open to suggestions

must check my typing before posting,

thats 4 yoyos and 2 bn cats,

the shrimp we have seen for the 15g are about 2.5" so would be too big for the betta to eat i think

Yoyos are a good choice. Very active and often seen in the middle and top of the water column rather than just the bottom.

The redline barbs are quite nice looking When I mentioned centerpiece fish I didn't know if you were interested in something like a gourami, angelfish, etc. You definitely have the space but you might have problems with tiger barbs then since they tend to be nippy.

to be honest i was worried that i might be slightly overstocked at that, we considered angels but was told the danios would be too nippy for them, and they are already residentto cycle the tank and i dont want to take them out

Your idea of 4 would be ok; it depends on what your final stocking numbers are with the other fish.

Danios generally aren't nippy with other fish when kept in good-sized schools. I'd still be careful about a centerpiece fish with the tiger barbs though. I don't have a lot of experience with them, you might want to post your question on the [link=Cyprinid Corner forum]http://www.fishprofiles.com/interactive/forums/forum.asp?id=5" style="COLOR: #FFFF99[/link].

would i be overstocked at that when they all reach full size?

i could put in a centerpiece in place of the tiger barbs but i think the redlines might be a bit boystrous for angels, any suggestions of anything colouful that would work?
