How much do you think the reserve price is?
And how big are they?

Platinum Arowana?! That is one of the rarer types of Arowana and pricy indeed. I think I've heard of this particular breed catching a price of $50k in the US! They're pretty darn rare, that's why most have never seen white colored Arowana.

However, I suppose ACIDRAIN and Toirtis might be more keen on this subject, as ACIDRAIN actually owns an Arowana and Toirtis has been considering the purchase of Asian Arowana.:%)

And I suppose it's needless to tell you that a high quality fish like that is going to probably need an enormous tank, judging by its already large size and the size it can attain in the future.

The x-backs, are nice beautiful fish. But, I cannot see paying the prices for them. And personally, I like the SA silver and black arowanas the best. I have owned several of the black and silvers, but none of the others. I would love to have one or more of the cross backs, but not for any of the prices they go for. Basically, they are all 100% farm raised fish, as they are totally extinct in the wild. This is why a permit and chip are required by cites to keep them in the US. It does not make a lot of sense, because they are 100% farm raised, and 100% extinct. So there is really no worry about them being taken from the wild. So why there is a permit required leaves me at a loss. But this is also what increases their prices.

I've keeped and seen many silvers, reds, blacks, golderns and greens before. Very nice fish but costly. If I had money I would continue with the aro hobby, but its too expensive.
