Doing some tank rearranging again I have a small group of WCMMs in my 29g that I was wondering if I could safely keep with one of my male bettas. Both the 29g and the 2.5g the betta currently lives in are the same temp. My main concern is would the white clouds bother or nip at the betta?

i've had white clouds in my 29 gallon and they never nipped another fish once... they just kept to themselves, and they were tank mates with fish like swordtails, gouramis, rainbows, kribs, hexazona barbs, gold barbs, blind cave tetras... never nipped... i'd almost be more worried about the beta being tough with them than them nipping at the beta... and you don't even really need to worry about that either.

it is a toss up, i am guess the WCMM are not long finned. depends on the betta, but there shouldn't be any problems, hopefully.

I kept WCMM's in a 10 gallon with my male betta for about a month (temporary til I tried a breeding experiment) and they ahd no problems

But, as in all other cases, it ends up coming down to the personality of the fish...even the betta might attack the WCMM's, but I doubt it

I had to put my white clouds in my 55g temporarily and it was a disaster. They nipped the tails off my otos, tore the fins up on my congo tetras, and terrorized my large blue gourami into hiding. I tried the 29g as a last resort and the angelfish told them where to go. No more nipping white clouds and they've since moved back into their own tank.

WCMMs are cold water fish, and their water temperature preference is colder than the betta would really like.
