I have three platies, two females and one male. And I have three swordtails, two females and one male. They are not showing any intrest in each other. I was hoping you could tell me how I can encourage them in their breeding process. Any answers would greatly be appreciated.

I'm guessing they're likely very young fish or simply haven't settled in yet. (How long have you had them?)

Give them good quality food, time, and lots of water changes and they should start producing for you. A nice cover of watersprite floating at the top of the tank and a big clump of java moss at the bottom will help the fry hide.

Like most fish they have to have all the correct conditions to breed. This would also include the age of the fish

Good feeding and correct water is a must. Get your water tested at the local LFS first and keep us up to date.

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
