Johnny the Oranda ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Enthusiast Posts: 237 Kudos: 237 Votes: 82 Registered: 01-Mar-2005 ![]() | I was boating on the lake in front of my house today and there must have been 20 full grown carp mating,they were swimming together and jumping out of the water, it was crazy some of them looked like they were at least 3 ft long, biggest freshwater fish ive ever seen in the wild, but tommorrow i want to catch one and put him in my pond outside, think i could keep him there for the summer? I want to get a two or three foot specimine. What could i feed something like that? |
Darth Vader![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Big Fish Posts: 338 Kudos: 334 Votes: 35 Registered: 05-May-2005 ![]() | well jonny if your were to have one that big you'ould a pond with at least a surface area of 20 square meters or more and a dpth of 70cm or so ( about 14000 litres ). not to mention filtration at a strength of around 5X that volume per hour( 70000l/h ).But if you've got all that there shouldn't be a prob keeping on o them carp in ya pond. if you didn't have a pond like that than you'd realy have to love carp and have the money to spareanyway i'm shore you'll have alot of fun if you diccide to keep one ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
