RAST Big Fish Posts: 437 Kudos: 162 Votes: 236 Registered: 07-Feb-2002	I would have to say that I find that the chain stores here in Oz are not too helpful with fish so I use the smaller people. I also find that the chain stores just hre anyone where the actual dedicated stores know more about the hobby. But if you are happy with the service that is what counts these days just as much as the product.

If they have what I'm looking for, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them assuming they looked healthy. Most of the LFS' around here have good quality as far as fish go. Equipment and supplies are always far more expensive at the LFS though. I almost exclusively order drygoods online.

Petco's decent, but Petsmart looks healthier. My fav LFS has GREAT quality fish, but their prices are high for supplies. There's another LFS in here that is in HORRID condition, always sick fish, nasty tanks, etc. And high prices as well. Thankfully, I have choices in my area, but if there was only the bad LFS, I would CERTAINLY go to my petsmart for fish! I already go there for most of my supplies, anyway... ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~
