I had been reading through [link=Crazygar's White Cloud Experiment and on impulse added 2 platy fry I managed to rescue from another tank. The setup has an airstone, but no heater, filter or light. In addition to the java fern there is a small bit of floating hornwort. Daytime temp remains steady at 75°, dropping to 74° on cooler nights. Lighting comes indirectly from a window facing southwest and room lighting during the evening. The fry are fed First Bites three times daily. There are also pest snails in the tank that I breed for my dwarf puffer. It's a nice little setup and I'm surprised at how well it's working out. There are bunches of daughter plants on the java fern; the fry are very active and growing faster than those I have in standard tank setups. I plan on setting up one of my 2.5 gallons with a tiny heater and a tiny Azoo filter and doing it as a live planted tank. When I finally get around to it, I will be sure to post some pics for you guys! |

Let them breed for two days and then hold on to and keep separated all the new snails as his food for the month? Those things put rabbits to SHAME... ![]() PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread. |
