OK I knew when i got them that it could become a disaster, but they were tiny, really folks quite tinyand there is the odds of get them small and raise them in the tank they will be in and all will be fine, right?

Well, last night I witnessed one of the Angels go nose to nose with Lucky the Betta, Lucky, held his ownI watched them for awhile longerok i was on the phone with kitten and then another friend, and there wasn't anymore aggression that I could sense or see for that manner, the angels went to hide in the "foliage".

Now this morning, when I went to feed everyone (the tank is filled with piglets I swear) I notice the original 125 gallon guppy boy swimming a bit "odd", upon closer inspection he was missing half his tail]:| He had been in the tank since I scooped up the plants from the 29 gallon where I had put them for the night till I could "deal with them" the next daywell, he was about a week old and got into the plant bag, and well...made a new life for his little self in the 125. I honestly didn't figure he'd make it he was maybe a week old, and there were several times when he disappeared, but within a day or so would reappear, became a total joke with the neons, harlies, and emperors in the tank, along with Lucky, that he survived, I figured hey he's meant to be there...well, his tail was split, and half was missing I quickly scooped him up in a betta cup, and treated directly with Melafix, then added him back to his original home (29 gallon). He seemed to swim around fine and looked happy as a lark in there (also treated that tank with Melafix, can't hurt right?)

So I'm thinking the true culprit in the tank are the angels...they are the most recent additions other than some corries...and he's gotten along all this time with Lucky the Betta...what do ya'll think? They were dime size about a month-2 months ago, now well they have gotten to be much biggernot as big and piggy as Leslie's but hey:%)

Other members of the tank, are:
Neon Tetras,
Mollies
Corries
Clown Loaches
Emperor Tetras (2-I know I need more in a school, I had morecan't find anymore now)
Guppies (a few more uh oops transfers)
Lucky the Betta
Harlies
and said Angels

It's the Angels isn't it? And yes, I know about angels and neons, the neons are full size when I added the angels, or were close to it, the largest is about 1.5 inches roughly, the smallest just over an inch...

Any ideas? Thoughts? Opinions?

Thanks for the rant Heidi

Hard to know, that one. The angels may certainly decide (if they are large) to make a dinner out of guppy parts, but then again if its the betta they might just be reacting to his aggression.Angels sometime "police " tanks, reacting to any aggression in other fish, only more observation will tell. If you see angels trailing other fish and looking at them intently , odds on theyve figured out fin nipping, but then a betta attack will be swift- so you might miss it. The betta may think his territorial space has been invaded with the introduction of the angels, and it might be making him aggressive.

could be either the betta/angel/or emperors.

Angels are just swimming triangles anyway, get rid of 'em.

Swimming triangles? I think anyone whos successfully bred them would disagree with that, they can be fascinating.Takes all types I suppose.

I'm beginning to agree with timmmy about the swimming triangles I will probably keep the blush, she/he seems much more docile than the rest, but the others well

And if I find one of them attacking someone in that tank, well that will be itespecially if it's a cory or cory fry

Angelfish are natural fry piscivores. If you keep them with cory fry, there can only be one outcome.
