OK, heres the question: I have a 5 gallon all set up, it has 3 juvenile swordtails cycling it. Here is the question:

Killifish or Endlers?? and how many of each?

I also want to keep red cherry shrimp.

You may want to check out the American Killifish Association web site to see what would be appropriate for this size tank. There are some species that would probably be okay when limited to a single pair, but many need a much larger tank. Additionally a lot of the species are very short lived so you need to also be prepared for that also. The link to the AKA:

Good luck

I would go with a pair of killis like old timer said. they can be very good looking fish and fairly easy to keep. Good luck with whatever you choose

Twice weekly? That seems a bit much. I change my two gallon betta tanks ONCE weekly. And five gallons aren't impossible to cycle, they can just be hard to KEEP cycled. *shrugs*

Male Endler's are very attractive and small...if you got a mix of M/F most likely you'd have an over-stocked tank soon since they don't eat their fry.
