The first tank my family had I think was a 30 gallon. It had tetras and other small fish. My first fish was the classic Betta in a vase. My first tank which I started a year ago is a 20 gallon long with Tetras, Dwarf Gouramis, Rsboras, Cories, and Ottos.

20 Gallon Long:
Aquaclear 300
2 Bolivian Rams, Mikrogeophagus altispinosus: Gumby and Pokey

Yes, I can remember what was in my first fish tank

It was a 10 gallon fry tank

Yes, the fry tank was mine. It contained guppy fry, and was one of the older ones that had the metal edges on the corners, where the "sealant" wasI remember the corners quite wellfell out of bed when I was about 3 or 4 and landed on the cornerstill have the scar on my nose/eye area...boy was my mother upset"don't bleed in the fish tank, it's not good for them"

As for what kind of gravel? Heck I don't remember, it's been longer ago than some of you have been alive

lol heidi,

the tank had a UGF, and green gravel, no heater, but a box filter, with 1 fake plant, and 1 rock with two holes, in the middle of the tank,

and look where i am at now.

I had goldfish in a 10 gallon when I was about 7. Oops.

Well, at least it wasn't a bowl.

Yes, many, many years ago, I had a 5g tank with metal edges, it was a garish colored gravel, but I can't remember the color. I had one of those box filters where you added floss and charcol. As for fish, whatever struck my fancy went in there. Poor things, over stocked and mismatched. I can only plead ignorance due to youth....after all it was more than 35 years ago.

It was a clear 30g rubbermaid container with a whisper filter and a trio of leopard danios. I had it sitting in the middle of my room but the sides started to bow so I took duct tape and ran it from one side to the other. Then my mom saw the tape and said it was gonna end up all over my floor so she bought me a 55g. I filled it with playsand and bought 1 light for it so it had 18w and I could barely see the 3 danios. Over a year the 55g turned into a planted tank with 80w of light and then 220w with co2. Now I'm moving everything in that 55g to a 90g and have a few other smaller tanks. I'm not sure I want to know where this will go in another few years.

my first tank was a 55 gallon with an alligator-snapping turtle named Fluffy in it. i got tired of feeding him fish all the time, and decided to replace him with some pretty fish!

alot of 10 gals

mine as well was a ten gal. i just recently got it out to put in my kitchen but couldnt find the filter glass or heater so its just cheaper to buy them all together.

but it way back in the day had one angel fish, one red tail shark and an CAE the lfs didnt really tell a 8 yr what to put in a tank and they looked cool. my fish might have all died to them also not telling me to only change abit of the water not all of it. i left the fishy hobby for years till just recently a spontanious decision and 1000 dollars later.

I remember having one of those giant clear rubber maid containers for under bed storage with like 20 feeder goldfish in it when I was about four. They didn't live very long .

My first tank was a ten gall with some little cichlid in it, as well as a pair of sword tails, a gourami, and a rainbowfish name "Shut-eye" (don't ask me, i have no clue). I remember waking up every morning and finding out that a fish had been killed/died until all that was left was shuteye, who survived an epic journey in the sloshing, half empty ten gal in the back of our station wagon when we moved from Kentucky to Minnesota. He lived for ten years, in two different states, hardy little fish.
