We noticed a couple chasing around, caught them and put them in an empty ten with lots of fake plants. They got to it the next morning and we had about a bazillion fry. Good luck, Mike |

Are you serious? Ok. This is what I am picturing. A terra cotta or plastic round flower pot, with water in it and two fish swimming around! I am assuming no gravel...heater....filter??? Thats wild!! Never heard anything like that! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Rams aren't too hard. I've seen them spawning in tanks at the store. You just need a male and female or 1male and 2 females and a flat surface in the tank. Neon tetras shouldn't be too hard either. My dad had some spawning and even hatched the eggs a few times back when we didn't know anything about fish. The fry always got eaten though. That's all I can think of for small easy spawners. I have several other fish that spawn regularly without work but some are outside your size requirements, some won't spawn for me once I move them from my main tank to where the eggs won't get eaten, and some have fry that are very difficult to raise. Threadfin rainbows weren't too hard to get to actually spawn but the difficulty lies in getting the eggs to hatch and the fry to survive. They are quite sensitive and an adult threadfin can't even eat pelleted foods the size of baby brine shrimp so the fry are a real pain to feed. |
