SHELLIES! A pair of brevis would be nice .. not that I'm biased or anything

And soon enough you'll have 30 fry swimming around your tank, with you wondering what to do with them all... again, not that I would know...

Plus it gives you some interesting aquascaping opportunites, mixing rock-work with plants and a sandy bottom.

Make it three votes.

Please make sure you use a substrate that will keep the PH above 8.

Yes, shellies.

Read all about it here

and here

They're small african cichlids that use snail shells found in their habitats for breeding etc. They defend mostly small territories, thus they're well suited for life in small tanks, especially Neolamp. Brevis. They also breed quite readily, so that's exciting too.

I'll attach a pic of my 10 gallon brevis tank.

Edit: This was before I added shells, but you get the idea.

10 gals. make great hospital or quarrantine tanks. I keep mine with a very thin (1/4 inch deep) layer of gravel, one rock with java moss, and a ceramic cave (also with java moss) and it has a very zen, sparse look that looks good with any fish. I keep ghost shrimp in there to keep it cycled and clean.
Speaking of shrimp, you could start your own colony of cherry or other similar shrimp. I have one in a 7 gal, and with TONs of shrimp that breed at least once a month, it looks really cool.
10 gal. tanks are also good specimen tanks (which is I assume how you used it for the puffer(s)), so you could try another small unusual fish that may be easier to keep. Or an electric blue (or other variety) crayfish that you can't keep in a community setting.

You probably would be most happy with shellies, though. They are very cool fish. I just wanted to throw out some other ideas.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

OK, I already have a hospital/qtine tank. Also, anything with a shell or an exoskeleton is out. I'm thinking of a small species that will do fine in there.
