They are also so helpful in keeping your water quality up to speed, and look so much better, but it is just my opinion. As for plastic plants, I would just try to get small or thin plants as best you can. Broader plants seem to get dug up quicker, so just so long as you stick with limited foliage that is made up of thin plants, you should be okay... ![]() PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread. |

However, my Jack Dempsey and Green Terror constantly dig them up and I have to replant them almost every day. Should I skip plants all together and just use dritwood and rock, or would the tank be lacking too much for color? |

You could try weighing the ba You can get some very nice plastic plants these days.. I was very surprised my friend Shannon has 2 tanks with all fake plants and shells and I was very impressed with the overall look. Also have seen some good pics in here using all fake plants. I also encourage real plants but not with your cichlids.. If you do try, use very sturdy plants, large java ferns come to mind and they're easy plants. ![]() The Amazon Nut... |

I loved having the life plants in the tank but almost every day they were uprooted and floating on the surface. I guess I'll try some fake plants and see how they work out. |
