Will all these fish get along? 1 blue gourami 6 congo tetras 6 black neons 1 marble angel 1 blue ram 1 L18(goldnugget plec) 1 royal pleco 10 otocinclus 1 farlowella 6 panda cory I'm hoping to use the current tanks for hillstream loaches and a saltwater tank. |

The gourami might tussle with the angel once in a while, and you'll have to keep the water quality up there for all those delicate fish, but i'm willing to bet they'll be just fine ![]() |

Right now they are in with the angel but I got it as a tiny little thing. It's only a little longer than the bigger of the tetras. I'm mostly worried about the gourami and angel but with 90+ gallons I was hoping they'd stay out of each others way enough. I'm also considering adding a female ram again since my lone ram lost his mate to ich. Only fish I've lost to illness so far. |

Black neon tetras and Neon tetras are two completely different species. Black neons generally tend to be larger (1.1 inches for neon and approx 1.9" for black neons). Now, I myself have had no problems having adult angels with neons. Never have I seen them snacking on neons, or black neons. No doubt people have witnessed angels snacking on their neons, but I still believe that in this hobby there seems to be a heavy reliance on anecdotal evidence. This is a common thing, I'm not going into a rant about it. Heck, I've seen red belly piranhas in the same tank as neon tetras. In a public aquarium no less. So no doubt that in the wild angels to feed on smaller fish, but if you were to keep your fish well fed, I don't see any major problems with angels and neons in the same tank. But remember, the original poster said BLACK neons, which are larger than NEONS. Just like Cardinals are bigger than Neons also, it doesn't mean that angels will snack on those also. I've seen a 100 gallon tank with angels, discus and a large school of neons. Never did I see a major decline overnight. So I do not see a problem with the stocking of black neons in with angels, especially since that they're black neons and not regular neons. If you want something a little larger with the same colors as the blacks, I would suggest some emperor tetras - they're beautiful fish (and larger than the blacks) -- L |

They are larger than regular neon tetras, and would have lots of room to hide (if they needed to) in such a large tank. Personally, I don't see any problems with that stocking list. You've picked out some colorful fish, and several active species as well. Just be aware that the Congo tetras *may* nip at the longer-finned fish in the tank, because big fins are a big target. If the Congos do nip though, it shouldn't be a big problem. All in all, that setup looks fine. |

Black Neons are a bit more bigger than normal Neons & they have a good chance of escaping the Angel. Yes, you can add another Ram & some more Panda Corydoras. ![]() http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Everything is fine. The angel will chase around the cardinals but certainly can't fit them in its mouth. My angel is also not fully grown, but an adult angel and black neons should be fine. |

I have to discuss glass prices and then make sure it fits through the doors to the room. Of course I considered building it in the room but then I'd have to take it apart if I want to move it I don't know if I can make it 2ft wide like I wanted I might have to knock a few inches off so it's 20-22". The pandas are a collection of leftovers from various fish stores. 2 here, 3 there, a lonely one hanging out with some julii so I keep adding to them every few months. I've seen emperor tetras only once. They were pricey and in very poor shape so I ended up with congos and black neons in my tanks. Somehow though one of the fish stores is getting in hillstream loaches that look healthy. I've got 1 in a highly aerated tank but I really need to get a species tank with current setup for him. |
