Albino fish are rather popular, so albinism has become rather common in fish as it is bred in such a manner to encourage albinos. Thus, albinos are more common in the fishworld than in most other areas... ![]() PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread. |

Albino bettas are extremely rare (not to be confused with "cellophanes" or "opaques" and generally are both weak and very blind, which isn't uncommon with albinos of many species. To my knowledge there's been no successful breeding of an albino betta, for those reasons. Albino cories, on the other hand, are robust and have good vision. The gene's just linked up differently for them. Combine that with how easy it is to breed the common cories and ta-da! Lots of albino ones, everywhere. -Molly Visit shelldwellers.com! |

Because they have been living in dark caves for thousands of years, however, they have lost most of their pigment (not all, they still have some). ![]() I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |
