Depends on the brand of flake you are using. For the most part, even with some of the high quality flakes, there is no difference in the flakes, other than color. The products within each flake are the same no matter the color. It is just that some fish go after certain colors before others, so this offers a variety of eye pleasing foods for different fish. As for the few that do offer different make up of different colors, it is still limited to just one or two different items. Some actually have spirulina in the green flakes, while others have plankton and high protein in the red ones.

Tetramin flakes are all the same, no matter the color. The only difference in them would be the coloring material used.

As far as im aware, tetramin does use different things for their flake.

(Although it might be a special kind that does it)

I think that there isn't any difference, apart from the colour.

Why do they make them colourful?.

I buy Hikari flakes & they are all Light brown in colour.
