I do keep some flake on hand for the fish that prefer to get their food from the top as it has a tendency to sink somewhat fast. ^_^ [hr width='40%'] I need to calculate, what creates my own madness... and I am waiting for disaster" ![]() |

My bettas refuse to take flakes. They loooove pellets. ![]() In my community tank, I have tetras, barbs, and I've had gouramis and cories in it. They all take flakes, but prefer different things. The gourami loved bloodworms, and the cories loved sinking wafers. I'd say smaller granules are prolly better, but you need to see if they will accept them or not. I'd give fish that aren't as active as say, danios or barbs, flakes. ![]() -Formerly known as the Ferretfish ![]() |

Fish are like humans & like a varied diet. http://www.geocities.com/alexis_brincat/ http://www.deathbydyeing.org/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

Other than the usual flakes, pellets and algae wafers, & frozen bloodworms three times a week there are many other also foods I use. The different foods I use are many and varied, never at any specific time or day. All this started not long after viewing FP. I am always willing to try something different. I believe that is the reason why my fish are so healthy as they get a good variety of foods. Heavy fishing line suspends the pear core & the fish fr When feeding with the fish fr Once I found a tomato seed that had started to sprout in the internal filter I was using at the time. Fish all fresh & uncooked SW fish fr Various SW fish mashed Prawns/Shrimp Roe FW & SW Meat Raw lambs liver mashed very fine about 1/2 tea spoon. Vegetables Cooked all mashed Diced Carrot. Corn. Peas. Beans. Celery. Vegetables Raw Lettuce. Tomato. Zucchini. Fruit. Pear core Banana. Small pieces. That is because with pellets or granules, if the fish eat them before they soak up enough water, they will swell up in the fish's stomach and potentially cause discomfort or health problems. ![]() I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |
