I've used [link=AquariumFish.net]http://www.aquariumfish.net/index.html" style="COLOR: #66CCFF[/link], [link=Fish2U.com]http://www.fish2u.com/fish2u/index.html" style="COLOR: #66CCFF[/link], and [link=Neptune Aquatics]http://www.neptuneaquatics.com/fish.htm" style="COLOR: #66CCFF[/link] which is mostly cichlids. And [link=Aquatic Plant Depot]http://www.aquaticplantdepot.com/" style="COLOR: #66CCFF[/link] is the only site I'll buy plants from.

Cichlid-forum.com has a section of member-contributed reviews of lfs and mail-order fish sources. Obviously geared towards cichlids but many of the larger stores are listed as well. [link=Linky]http://www.cichlid-forum.com/reviews/retailer_display.php?CatID=002" style="COLOR: #66CCFF[/link]

Bob,

Thanks for the update

and to continue a quote from you:

but it may apply itself to any internet site

... and print, visual, and audio media.

Ingo,

I think that "LiveFishDelivery" is a strategic partnership for "ThatPetPlace" much as "LiveAquaria" is a partner with "Foster&Smith". There may be some ownership but, in general terms, few companies that focus on dry goods want to invest in labor intensive animals or plants.

The devil is in the details with any site or publication. I had a theology teacher whose favorite bon mot was, "Never believe anything that you read or hear." I believe that he was trying to impress upon us the importance of researching positions but it may apply itself to any internet site.

Just because I am curious about new links, and because Bob usually has a good eye for finding special things, I went to the website he links to, http://www.LiveFishDelivery.com .

Now I have a question and a comment about it:

Question: isn't that place the same as "That Pet Place"? Anyone knows why they have a different site for live whatnots? Is that an outsourced task of this company?

Comment: Although the variety of plants (that's what I looked for) seems ok, the devils are in the details. Most plants seem tiny (Balansae, for example) or carry a very bad description. For example crypt retrospiralis is mentioned as "It is good for beginners and makes a fine foreground plant". That is so true, if you like 30 inches of plant height as a foreground, that is.

Just rambling,

Ingo

Just remember that your shipping costs can get pretty costly. The best way is overnight to eliminate any unnecessary delays in receiving your fish.

It's also important that you know when the shipment will arrive as someone needs to be home to receive the package, otherwise it will probably be just left out on your door step, which as you are probably well aware is not the best.

What type of fish are you looking to purchase? Are you looking for a wide range of available species or are you targetting a specific fish, such as angelfish?

Take a look at http://www.LiveFishDelivery.com
