i'm dismantling my ~10g tank this week with the fish going into a new 72gallon (US). i'm giving the 10g to my girlfriends sister whos coming to visit this weekend.

the tank is 23x7x16 inches with exturnal filter in the hood, 15W light and 100W heater.

anyway need list of stocks to give them - they've never kept fish before - so all easy care for fish needed.

i've explained cycling etc just need ideas for them.

cheers shekoi

For a 10 I like a dwarf gourami and a SMALL group of cherry barbs (maybe 2 F, 1 M) OR a small group of harlequin rasboras.

are bettas good with guppies - their fins are alike could cause problems.

betta hard to feed sometimes can be picky so might be to difficult for them.

cheers for replies. shekoi

Cherry barbs are one barb species that doesn't really "shoal" They would do fine alone or in a group of about 6 without anything else; less if you put something else, like a dwarf gourami.

I think tiger barbs need a bigger space since they are a barb species that does better the larger the group.

I would be reluctant to recommend guppies for a 10 unless they are all female (or all male), and I don't think they would do well with a beta (nippy).

I would go with a Betta & some Neons or Cardinals.
