Well, I kept a gold ram and a blue ram for about a year. I had one ich outbreak which started with the rams. The gold ram unfortunately perished by getting itself stuck inside a decoration. The blue ram perished while I was swicthing my substrate out. I was only doing a little at a time, keeping up with frequent water changes. But I lost her anyway.

I think if you are diligent with your water changes they aren't too hard to keep & they are interesting fish.

I have had my Bolivians for 2 years now, and have 5 altogether. They seem tough as heck like any cichlid to me, and have never become sick once.
Mind you neither have any of my other fish aside from guppies.

I think you will always get many answers for that one as it is a "word" and is open for interperation. What one considers sensitive another might not. It is like define "Normal"
