They wont breed in there if the other fish sleep in there. They need their "own place." After the fry hatch, they will live in the place they were born in or the parents will move them else where. They will go back there every night. It will be like their own little home in the tank. If they do choose to live in the cave, the parents will NOT let the other fish near. They will guard it. Better to get them their own place. If you want the fry to survive, its better to let them be born alone in the tank with their parents. You may be asking for trouble if the fry are born in a place another fish likes to stay. Please read the links I posted here. Write the steps down. Easier to remember it that way. You may even have to remove the dad after a few days.

You were asking if the kribs could breed in the caves the loaches sleep in right??

The Kribs go into the pot through the enlarged hole and lay thier eggs inside, usually on the roof.

I don't have a pic but what you want is a cave with one entrance just big enough for the adults to go through. that makes them feel safe and secure.

A varied diet is always better than just the same food day after day.

"To breed them take a small flower pot with a saucer. Enlarge the hole at the bottom of the pot, put the saucer over the top and push it into the substrate on its side so the substrate holds the saucer in place."

Anyone got a pic of this setup? Where do the kribs lay the eggs? Does it matter what the pot is made of? plastic, terra cotta??

How much do kribs usually cost? I just want to know for future ref.

Just give them a chance to mature a bit & hopefully they will breed. Kribensis are quite easy to breed & you'll see some fry soon.

They might be too young yet. How long have you had them?

IME if you have a male and a female, they'll pair.

They do get cranky once they start mating so you won't want other fish in there unless it's a pretty big tank.

Females get a very purple belly. Males are longer, their anal and dorsal fins trail back to point that are almost even with the end of the tail.

To breed them take a small flower pot with a saucer. Enlarge the hole at the bottom of the pot, put the saucer over the top and push it into the substrate on its side so the substrate holds the saucer in place.

It won't take long and they'll take up residence. If they are old enough and your water quality is good you should have baby kribs in a month or so.
