Of course corys like the space too . A 30 is good for one or two schools of any of the smaller schooling fish, I'd stay away from any fish that gets larger than 6" though.^_^[hr width='40%'] The life, the love, You die to heal. Theres loads of small tetras and stuff you could try. |

Some cherry barbs (smaller and more mild mannered than their larger cousins) some glass catfish, maybe some "wild" bettas. Loaches anyone? |

I'm going to add a school of black rasboras (gorgeous dark purple & orange) and maybe a dwarf gourami or two to round out the tank. All these are very colorful and lively. I'm temporarily housing my 5" pleco in there---just until I get my 55 up and cycled, then I will move him out and add an oto or two for clean-up. These fish worky well for me!! IE an Amazon biotope would have angelfish, neon tetras, and plecos. But it would not have kribs, yo yo loaches, cherry barbs, or glass catfish, even though they are compatiable agression wise. IMO, I think it's cooler having an aquarium that is actually meant to look like something rather than throwing together fish species that would never interact in nature. |

I would have loved to stay natural and done a biotope, but I don't have crap for fish where I am. I only have one fish store in my town that I trust to put their fish in my tank, so I buy what colorful fish they have that will work in my tank. The only problem is the self control in not being able certain fish you want because they're from different parts of the globe. IE. my SA blackwater river biotope: 4 apistogramma agazzi 8 neon tetras 8 marbled hatchets I had to get neons because I couldn't have the cherry barbs I wanted. But other than that, It's not a problem for me. |
