i'd voted for plants.
they give me the most grief, especially algea (isn't that part of the category?)

being able to cultivate the right algea while killing the wrong ones would be great.

aquascaping is not "knowledge", IMO.

Yeh this would be the best. That way I could make all my tanks look premmo.

But then knowing this would also overlap into the other areas of fish keeping as well.

None – because otherwise I would have to answer all your questions on that aspect :%)

No, seriously, I would like to raise my knowledge equally on all levels. What would it help me
to know how to create the perfect water conditions for a particular fish if I don’t know who
would be compatible, what to feed, if I can add plants, and, well, you get the point.

But, if you force me to choose, I pick water conditions. I would be curious to find out all the bad
things I have done to my water in the past (and I am sure in the future as well).

I don't feel as though I know everything about any particular subject...

I find that I am always seeking to find more and more knowledge...I don't know how many books I'm up to now, but I keep finding new ones with new information on different areas, and unbelievably I end up taking them to bed or wherever I am planning on reading...

I guess that is the one part about this hobby that I really enjoy is all the information there is out there that I have yet to even encounter

Conditions, hands down. Everything else I'm willing to be an amateur at forever, if need be. There's no fishkeeping without water chemistry!

I'd have to go with water condition. After suffering a few losses due to poor water quality its of upmost importance to keep it clean. As was said before, good clean healthy water will keep just about anything you put in it.

i luv my L numbers

To own pairs, know their dealings, how to breed them and save them being caught in the wild

Sorry guys, but i am a bit of a conservationlist, these are expensive fish because most are wild caught - especially those received in the UK. I only buy them to give them a good home and cannot fit anymore in my tanks!!!

They are beauties

Best regards

Dave

Fish/Inverts

No research involved in stocking a tank, just a trip to the lfs.....that would be nice.

Water Conditions, because most other things come in books or with instruction manuals, but other than one rather spiffy book on marine water chem, there is hardly anything widely available on the topic.

And if you keep the water well, it'll keep almost anything that you can throw at it
