Well your convict will grow to between 6" and 8" and you BN will grow to about 5"

I think that should be ok

Both fish will be fine together & you may add some Drift Wood for the BN to munch & hide.

I used to have a 20 gal with a pair of convicts (Male 5", Female 3", a couple giant danios, an orange fin loach 4" , and a pleco 7". I had lots of stuff in the tank for hiding places. I never had very many problems. Every once in a while the loach and the male convict would hate each other but nothing bad. If your fish are young then you might be able to get a way with adding more fish with them. Stick to fast swimmer and you can add a few fish.
