I'd like to get somw khuli loaches for my 30g as i like the way they dig into the gravel & help to keep things moving down there...I'd like something that does a similar job for my 130g but am sure khuli loaches would get mistaken for worms & eaten within minutes.

So any suggestions?

Kuhlii loaches are one of my favorite fish For your 30g get as many as you can, a bit group is so entertaining to watch.

What fish are in the larger tank that you'd be concerned about the loaches being eaten?

One of my favorite pics, kuhlii that I thought was dead actually sleeping on the heater suction cup

Although I am not very familiar with the various species of larger eels I would guess that some of these would act in a manner comparable to the Kuhli Loach (especially the Tiretrack Eel).

I have lots of caves in my 5footer & everyones ok at the moment...the tilapia is friends with the severum but at the end of the day the sleep at opisate ends of the tank...the TRBSs share caves in the middle. The black shark was inherited & initally didn't get on with the tilapia, but has had a grows spurt & is now ignored. The peacock bother noone & is bothered by noone. I'm going to set up more tanks in my garage for when they start to get really big.

i have about 12 kuhli loaches in my tank and they are awesome!!!! and are actually getn quite large! I have found that my loaches are far to quick for any of my fish to catch 'n' eat! Mine are fine with frontosa's, oscars, pleco, black sharks, severums and so on and so forth, if u have plenty of hiding spaces u'll find that they will survive quite happily and have no problems! and eventually they'll come and and be triple the size to what u bought them as! hehe
