I have a little 1gal tank that I use for snail breeding for my puffer. Yesterday I noticed that there were a ton of little white wormy things in the water.

What are these things? Are they from over feeding the snails? Are they bad?

I haven't given any to my fish lately, I'm trying to build up a supply. If I do give him some can he get sick from them?

Thanks
John

They are planaria. Add some salt and increase the heat and you should be fine.

The tank has no heater.

If I add some salt wont that kill my snails?

Yea snails dont like salt. Its from over feeding. I have had them before. What you need to do it keep doing water changes( every day or every other day) until they are all gone. Make sure you scrub really hard on the sides to get them all off. It will take a few days or a week to get them all gone. Maybe your feeding your snails too much, which leaves uneaten food, which makes those worms come. They are not harmful! Good Luck
