Marble is too soft to be used in the aquarium. After a little while, it might begin to leach harmful things into the water, which would ruin your whole day.

The main component of marble is Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3), and this will dissolve in water. It will greatly raise your general hardness, carbonate hardness, and pH, and could possibly do some other things, depending on the impurities of the marble.

Mani, You can add the marble eggs if you want just make sure you do test and see if you can see any bubbles being released from the eggs when and if you do put them in the tank.

Hi,
Marble is a metamorphic rock that used to be limestone.
Limestone is a carbonate, and will, over time, increase
your GH and affect your pH. With Marble however the
processes it goes through alters the rock and binds the
carbonate such that I suspect that you could place the
eggs in the tank with no noticeble effects. The problem
with placing unpolished, marble chips in a tank is that
the surfaces are not polished, and the marble dust that
accompanies the chips, those will affect the water
chemistries.
