We just moved our 38gal across a room the same way. We emptied it just over half way, moved it then re-filled it. It was still pretty heavy, but it worked fine.

i moved a 6 and a 10, kinda th e same as ur problem. yea take everything off, and unplug, (lights/hoods/filters air tubes etc....) and half empty the tank, and lay it down on the floor where ever the otehr tank is, and do the same with the other. given that they are going on a table or something.

If it is going to be a quick move remove about 90% of the water just enough for the fish, Set them up and fill them up again this time add some stress coat, dont feed, turn all lights off. On return do the reverse then do a small feed the flowing day. Next day no feed and a water change.
After all that follow your normal procedures.

I know there are many ways to do this some will be quick and easy. The way I have suggested requires a little bit more work but it could be less stressful on your fish.

and keep the water you remove in buckets and refill the tanks with the same water so as to minimise stress.

I would empty the tanks & move them more easily. Put the fish in buckets & keep the water, so that you don't have to cycle it again.
