Here are my stocking ideas oh by the way i have a penguin 330 on there and also a mini. I have a 200watt heater also. I want a school tank with different colorful fish 10 panda cories 10 Eye Spot Rasbora 10 zebra dainos 10 cardnal tetra 5 otts and 5 dwarf frogs this may sound a bit over stocked but these are all small fish and dont produce that much waste and its in the front room so its a show tank so i gotta clean it once a week. Let me know what yall think also question 2: as of now i have 5 panda cories and 10 zebra dainos. Will they be able to supply another waste to help the bio spira? I was thinking of tanking some filter pads out of my established tank hide it in a decoration and let that sit in there for a couple days. Let me know Last edited by brtaylor2000 at 26-Mar-2005 19:27 Last edited by brtaylor2000 at 26-Mar-2005 20:41 |

Although they will get along with all the fish mentioned, ADFs are not the most powerful swimmers. Remember that they have to go to the surface to breathe quite often. If you put them in any tank that is more than a foot high, your asking for trouble. If you are really set on the frogs, however, you can bend the rules a little bit. Put in lots and lots of plants. They have to be strong enough to support a frog's weight and have wide leaves that the frog can use almost like a ladder as it climbs to the surface. However, I would just set up a seperate 2.5 - 5 gallon tank for them. You can get a full setup for under $50 and the frogs will be more lively if they do not have to worry about other tankmates. I would not be surprised if your frogs spend most of the day in the 55 gallon under a rock. Sorry, but that's just my humble opinion - DJ :88) |
