You may also be over-filtering that tank...but I'm not sure...never had a long tank before. -Keith #2 http://www.ozarkgames.com |

Pirhanas are schooling fish, and schooling means at least 3 so you are looking at needing to put them in AT LEAST a 55 gallon. Your filtration ideas are wonderful if you go with pirhanas, but please dont put them in a 30 gallon long..they get big! and make a lot of mess, try cichlids for your tank..that might be easier, you will still get the agressiveness but much happier fish in the 30 long. I hope this helps and you understand why. check out how big the pirhanas get too! 72 gallon bowfront:Tanganyikan Lake set up 75 gallon: A. I would suggest to pull the UGF, Its going to be nothing in a couple months. If you want an agressive fish then I would suggest a pair of convict cichlids. They are a very easy CA cichlid that are notorious for there breeding behavior. |

Is it aggressive fish you are looking for? Have you considered other options, such as the smaller African cichlids? Those fish that you wanted just get too big. |

However not certain of the fish purchasable in your area but you could possibly look into a smaller species of Piranha's |
